Events

We have two annual events - our Spring Clean-Up (usually held in April) and our Labor Day Dog Swim.

Spring Clean-Up

Each spring (usually in early or mid April), we clean up the park by picking up debris/poop, filling in holes with dirt or large rocks, and generally grooming the area so the park is clean and safe for the summer season. We need volunteers - including a few with trucks to help us haul dirt - to clean up our 9 acre park!

Labor Day Doggie Swim Fest

The Fairfax Pool is open exclusively for the canine crowd for this special event held on the Sunday of every Labor Day weekend. (Sorry, no people swimming on this day). Activities include water retrieval, open swim, and a lure course; an admittance fee is charged per dog (usually $10, but that can change from year to year).

Please note the following rules:

• All dogs participating must have a valid dog license and show proof of current vaccinations.
• Maximum of two (2) dogs per adult human.
• Female dogs in any state of heat will not be admitted.
• Owners are responsible for any "accidents" their dog may have anywhere in the park area; you must bring your own clean-up bags.
• Dogs must be on leash when they are not in the pool.
• Admission fee covers all activities except concession purchases.

All proceeds from the event go to benefit the off-leash dog park in Eau Claire. Volunteers are needed to work at the event. If you are interested in volunteering or if you need additional information regarding Doggie Swim Fest call the Recreation Office at 839-5032.
